We recently traveled to Budapest and took advantage of an incredible offer on Voyage Prive to stay at the Corinthia Hotel. Corinthia is a unique chain of luxury 5* hotels located across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Located on the Pest side of Budapest, the Corinthia Hotel is a fantastic base from which to explore if you are new to Budapest. It is only a short walk from most of the city’s tourist attractions and for those attractions that are slightly further away you can hop on the underground at the nearby Octagon station.

When we first arrived at the hotel we were blown away by the opulence of the main lobby and the grand sweeping staircase. As we were travelling just before Christmas a huge Christmas tree and grotto had been installed in the main lobby and it felt just like that scene in Home Alone 2 – minus Donald Trump.

The facilities at the Corinthia Hotel are excellent. There are a number of restaurants and bars, a beautiful spa and an executive lounge. We had access to the spa included as part of our package and the free facilities included steam rooms, saunas, a large swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon when the weather was terrible.

As we were in an executive room, we also had access to the executive lounge which offered breakfast and free drinks and snacks throughout the day. It was one of our favourite parts of the hotel. A beautiful place to relax with a drink after a long day exploring.

Our Beautiful Hotel Room

We received an upgrade to an executive room as part of our package and it really was as luxurious as it sounds. The room itself was massive with a separate seating area, a large flat screen TV and a king sized bed. When we first arrived we were startled to hear a knock on the door. It was a turn-down service! I was in shock – I had never stayed somewhere that offered a turn-down service before. They tidied the room, prepared the bed and left a little chocolate on our pillow. How fancy!

There were a number of things you could pay extra for in the room such as pay per view films and a mini bar. We were also left a complimentary bottle of bubbly for my birthday which was a very nice touch. The room was incredibly comfortable and at times we didn’t really want to go out and explore at all!

Breakfast in the Main Dining Room

Breakfast at the Corinthia Hotel was a real experience. We had a choice of either the executive lounge or the main restaurant and both had a fantastic array of options. All of the food was tasty and fresh and although we tended to opt for the executive lounge both options really were great. We personally preferred the executive lounge as it was a little bit quieter and the service felt more personal. As we were trying to fit in a lot during the day, it was nice to have breakfast included at the hotel to set us up for a full day of activities.

Overall we would highly recommend the Corinthia Hotel and you should keep an eye out for any more deals on Voyage Prive as it tends to be on offer twice a year.
