Prague is one of our favourite cities in Europe. It is small enough to explore over a long weekend, but there’s enough to keep you going back. Throw in the fact that it is only a few hours away from the UK and you have the perfect recipe for a city break. During our most recent visit we stayed at the ICON Hotel & Lounge and we think you should stay there too on your next visit.

Located just a short walk away from Wenceslas Square in the heart of Prague, the ICON Hotel & Lounge is ideally located for a long weekend in Prague. The famous Old Town, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle are only a short walk away. Tucked away on a quiet street, the hotel is incredibly modern and you are struck by the design as you first walk in to reception.

The staff at the ICON Hotel & Lounge are excellent. We were given a warm welcome and they provided us with a number of good recommendations for restaurants in the local area. Some of which even ended up on our top 5 places to eat in Prague! They really helped us make the most of our stay in Prague which is an added bonus when picking your hotel.

The room

The hotel itself is fascinating. The rooms are located along dimly lit corridors with coloured light boxes appearing at random points across the walls and ceilings. I have never seen anything quite like it. Our room was huge and full of little extras that made our stay more comfortable. The smart TV connects to Netflix and there is a mobile phone in each room that you can take out with you in Prague. It is loaded with maps with the hotel’s recommendations and you can also make international calls back home. A great perk.

All day breakfast?

What's not to love!

The all-day breakfast on offer at the ICON Hotel & Lounge was another highlight of our stay. All day really means all day here and you can have breakfast at any time from 7am until 10pm. If you want to stay out late and sample Prague’s famous nightlife then this breakfast offer is ideal. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and the hot food options were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the pancakes!!

If you are visiting Prague, we would highly recommend the ICON Hotel & Lounge. We booked through for the best price and paid on arrival. Where do you stay when visiting Prague? Let us know in the comments below.
