Pelican Bay Art Hotel, view from hotel

The Greek island of Mykonos is perhaps the ideal post-lockdown getaway if you are looking for beautiful beaches, great hospitality and a short flight. Find out what I thought of the Pelican Bay Art Hotel during my last visit to the island.

The Hotel

The Pelican Bay Art Hotel is beautifully decorated in classic Greek white and blue. It has a stunning pool and a great rooftop which has wonderful views over the bay. On those days when you don’t want to walk down to the beach, the pool and rooftop are the perfect place to set up, have a few drinks at the bar and soak up some sunshine. The staff at the hotel were excellent and were able to help when I had questions about my dietary requirements.

The hotel is easy to find and in a great location in the town of Platys Yialos. It is a short walk to the beach and there are a few nice restaurants in the local area. The local beach has lots of amenities, expect plenty of cocktails, restaurants and sunbeds to make the most of your holiday by the sea.

The hotel is also near local transport links to the rest of the island so is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore further afield. Mykonos airport is only a 10min drive away and the hotel can arrange a collection and drop off for you.

The Rooms

The hotel rooms are situated behind the main section of the hotel. The way the hotel is set out really creates a premium feel to the rooms as you feel like you have your own exclusive space. We loved our room. It had a balcony window out towards the view of the bay and a generous sized bed. The rooms had everything you could need and a good sized ensuite.

The breakfast

Breakfast at Pelican Bay Art Hotel

We really enjoyed our breakfast at Pelican Bay Art Hotel. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast with a variety of breads, fresh juices, fruit and more. We loved the selection on offer and often opted for the cooked option of our choice of eggs on toast. It was a great start to the day sitting on the hotel terrace with a strong coffee before strolling down to the beach for a day of relaxing.
