Since sharing our blog with friends and family last week, one question has kept popping up. Why Clock Out Check In? Coming up with a name for the blog was probably one of the most time consuming things we have had to do so far. But we wanted to create something for people like us who work full-time and love to travel. On Clock Out Check In we are writing from our own experiences as young professionals trying to make the most of our 25 days’ annual leave each year.

We love to travel and our friends will know that we are constantly planning our next trip. We spend so much time researching our next adventure and love reading travel blogs for inspiration. But we have found that travel blogs are almost exclusively aimed at full-time travellers or people planning a much longer trip. They are full of fantastic advice on how to travel around the world on a budget but that’s not really our style. Because we work full-time, when we do go on holiday we can actually afford to go on the exotic holidays, stay in the beautiful hotels and eat at the local restaurants that we want.

LET’S CLOCK OUT OF THE OFFICE

The first part of our name is short for clocking out of the office. We have a great life in London, pursuing our careers in exciting and rewarding full-time jobs. But, like everyone with such a busy life, we definitely look forward to escaping the office for an adventure. And it’s really important to switch off! Our lives are so busy – between clients, bosses, friends and family you can feel that you are switched on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Clocking out is vital to our health and well-being. Research has shown that holidays improve our mental health and we are more productive when we return to work feeling refreshed. For us, clocking out of the office does not just mean going on holiday either. There is so much to do after work and on weekends so we will be sharing with you amazing things that you can do in London and around the UK.

Check In to your Next Adventure

However, the majority of this blog is focussed on helping you make the most of your annual leave. If you only have 25 days away from the office each year, you really can’t afford to waste one. Therefore proper research is even more important to us when planning our next holiday. We know that not everyone loves this research so that’s where we can help. On Clock Out Check In we will be sharing our top tips for destinations across the world. We only recommend places that we have tried and loved ourselves. So far we have articles ranging from hotel reviews in Mexico to the top 5 things to do in Budapest and we will be sharing new content with you every week.

FOLLOW CLOCK OUT CHECK IN

So thank you all for your continued support. With your help, we reached 1000 monthly page views in July for the first time.
